We were meant to leave Locmiquelic on Monday but Sunday's high winds and rain had not quite cleared away so we stayed an extra night where the showers were hot and free and the marina staff were great. If we had left on Monday we were headed for Hooligan (Port Haliguen) through the Teignhouse passage which I understand is only .25miles wide. However we knew from reading a notice on the door of the Bureau de Port that Haliguen would be shut to visitors from midday as they were expecting a rally. I checked with the Capitainerie to make sure my French was correct and he said 'so you speak French'. No but I can read French apart from looking up the odd word or two. Its a bit like reading 'The Times'. You know the meaning even though you might not have the exact use of the word.
And so to Tuesday when we had decided there was nothing for it but to head for La Turballe. We would skip out La Belle Isle because more weather coming in and we did not want more than two or three days there. This coming weekend looks pants.
Tuesday dawned bright and early (well early). A 07.00 hrs start for a 50 mile journey.
