Waiting for weather in Cherbourg

1st June. (Pinch and a Punch)

The village laverie where the village women would gather to do their washing in times gone by.
Had lunch in Benodet yesterday. No ferry yet but the wonderful lady in charge of the marina organised a lift for us. So we could see the other side. We actually prefer this side. It is so quiet and peaceful that Phil could not sleep. The clock ticking drove me bonkers so we took the battery out!! Today we had a walk along the beach and took a picnic. We walked to Ile Tudy which is opposite Loctudy(another little port)but too cold to paddle. There was a small market here this morning (small but perfectly formed) so we shopped a little. All the bars and restaurants seemed to open today so summer must be coming. Showers and loos in the woods. Well if its good enough for bears..........
